Not Sure Where to Begin?

Every project starts with clarity. If you’re considering publishing or photography services, review the details below. When you’re ready, schedule a conversation and we’ll map your next steps.

Before We Begin

If you’re exploring what working together could look like, these answers may help. And if you’re ready to begin, I invite you to reach out.

  • Black Ember is based in Portland, Oregon. Travel is available for photography sessions and select creative collaborations. If your project is outside the area, reach out and we can explore what’s possible.

  • Each offering is rooted in story, clarity, and intention. If you are developing a manuscript or preparing to bring a book into the world, publishing may be the right place to begin. If you are building a visual presence for yourself or your work, photography may be the next step. If you are unsure, we invite you to start with a conversation.

  • After you inquire, you will receive a response within a few business days. For most services, we begin with a brief discovery call to ensure alignment. From there, you’ll receive a clear proposal outlining scope, timeline, and investment before moving forward.

  • Yes. Every offering is grounded in a trauma informed, healing centered approach. That means we move at a pace that honors your lived experience, prioritize emotional safety, and approach story and creative work with care and respect.

  • This work is relationship centered and values led. We begin by listening, not prescribing. Whether through words, images, or conversation, the goal is not performance. It is presence. The result is work that feels grounded, aligned, and true to who you are.
