About Black Ember Press

Black Ember Press is an independent publishing house sharing memoir, poetry, guided reflection, and related reader resources.

We are currently focused on our existing catalog and forthcoming titles. We are not accepting unsolicited manuscripts or new publishing clients.

You must be at least 18 years old to make purchases, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use this website lawfully and without disrupting, damaging, or interfering with its operation.

You may not use the website to violate applicable laws, infringe intellectual property rights, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, or transmit harmful software.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, logos, designs, images, and other original content displayed on this website are owned by Black Ember Press or used with permission.

Publishing, selling, or promoting a book through Black Ember Press does not automatically transfer an author’s copyright to the press. Copyright ownership and publishing rights are governed by the applicable publishing agreement.

Purchasing a book or digital product does not transfer copyright or grant permission to reproduce, distribute, or resell its content.

These restrictions do not limit uses permitted by applicable law or expressly authorized by the copyright holder.

Publishing Agreements

Black Ember Press publishes selected works under separate written agreements with authors.

Rights, royalties, distribution, production responsibilities, compensation, and creative decisions are addressed in those agreements. If a signed agreement differs from these general Terms, the signed agreement governs that publishing relationship.

Shop & Product Orders

All orders are subject to availability. Prices, formats, signed-edition details, and product descriptions appear in individual listings.

Please review your order and provide accurate contact and shipping information before completing checkout.

Shipping charges and applicable taxes are displayed at checkout.

Shipping & Preorders

In-stock orders ship within 2 business days. Processing time is separate from the shipping carrier’s delivery time.

Preorders follow the shipping schedule stated on the product page. A book’s release date is not a guaranteed delivery date.

If we cannot ship within the promised timeframe, we will notify you and offer the option to agree to a revised shipping schedule or cancel the unshipped order for a refund, as required by applicable law.

Returns & Damaged Orders

Unless otherwise stated in a product listing or required by applicable law, purchases of books, workbooks, digital products, and related merchandise are final.

If a physical product arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact info@blackemberpress.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and relevant photographs of the item and packaging.

We will review the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement or refund.

This policy does not limit any rights you have under applicable law.

Digital Products & Free Resources

Digital products are delivered electronically. No physical item will be mailed unless the listing expressly states otherwise.

Please review the listing for file formats and device compatibility. If you experience difficulty receiving or opening a purchased file, contact info@blackemberpress.com.

Ebooks and workbooks are for personal use unless a different license is expressly provided. They may not be redistributed, uploaded publicly, or resold without permission, except as permitted by law.

Free discussion guides may be used for their stated purposes, including book clubs, classrooms, leadership teams, community groups, and personal reflection. Any additional permissions or restrictions included with a resource apply.

Our website may link to retailers, audiobook platforms, author websites, and other third-party resources.

Purchases made through those platforms are subject to their own terms, delivery arrangements, return policies, and privacy practices.
